Pens again suffered from this contagious condition called RASKITIS. It makes them all limp and impotent. They suffered from this condition against the Brooins in the playoffs and again got it yesterday. Sid got it before the game started and everyone else caught it when the game actually started. They should have taken some Viagra to get them UP again. NO pun intended

Greiss is exactly where Zatkoff was last year .912 SV%. Could have saved some money.

Really hope 87 and 71 are a). okay and b). in the lineup today for my own selfish purposes of not wanting to be bored again.

Kunitz has been fine this season... Not really an "iron" man but fine.
BB never showed he played well when givn the opportunity to play top 6... though it has been awhile. Is he waiver subjectable? WBS might shape him up.
DP Should play in WBS until the next injury. Double shift our forwards closing to the playoffs to give sheltered 7th d-man minutes to a player better served by playing top minutes in WBS? Thats getting silly.

Please never use the word 'netuered'again to describe any aspect of Pens play.

The quality of teammates you play with matters and needs to be taken into consideration with player evaluation. Ignoring important variables leads to incorrect evaluations.

Just wondering why this only matters with Bennett?

Why does this not matter with Kunitz? His "advanced" stats have been propped up by Crosby and Malkin. I like Kunitz and I think he'll be fine, but all year we've heard that he's the same player, when it's obvious that he hasn't been.

And now we learn that he was dealing with an iron deficiency, and he admits that he hasn't been himself this year. But we're still supposed to believe that he's the same highly effective player because Corsi McFenwick says so?!?

I was at game yesterday.. I actually thought they played good despite not having sid and geno... they had a lot of chances but just couldn't capitalize on situations... whats funny is kuni is the one who missed 2 open opportunities...

As for BB he barely played yesterday and with geno amd sid out I thought that was a dumb move. Plus MJ should have used winnik as a center instead of spaling..

D didn't play that bad but not having pouliot in hurt their offense. I actually would have preferred 7 d over adams coming in.

People were still asking where sid was during intermission.

Awesome malkin out, sid game time, pouliot down, ebbett up and adams in....

Well these last 2 months just got interesting... good thing we got some scoring forwards at deadline... oh wait...

I thought teams can go over cap by 10% and have expanded rosters... how do pens not have cap space??? (frank)ing scuderi adams and spaling

My desire for entertainment aside, no need to rush Malkin back. If Sid feels fine, play him.

The Penguins have shown very little concern for the standings this year. All they need is a golden ticket, their coaching and management decisions have not been the kind that lead to President's Trophies.

Arguably the only thing they needed to do to end in first place was to continue to practice shootouts. 3-6 in the shootout this year.

BB is most likely done after this year as a Pen. He can't skate very well, he might have good hands but thats where his talent ends. He looked completely disinterested in the game. There is 0 fight in the kid. Adams showed more yesterday than BB. What kind of message does promoting someone who sucks over Comeau who has been playing well? BB needs to prove he wants off the 4th line. He's yet to do that.

Cause scuds is playing decent enough. Do would be better developed inwbs than sheltered minutes up. Dp doesn't give us a appreciable increase in winning on the bottom pair

Actual NHL coaches (and coaches in all other sports) are loathe to simply hand playing time and/or roles to guys who aren't doing what the coach wants them to do.

Scuderi was the reason Lucic was so wide open for that shot yesterday. There was no reason for him to collapse in front of Greiss like that, the other d was literally standing right next to him. If he was on Lucic, good chance he didn't get that shot off... Granted it's only one instance, but I'd rather have DP in that Scuderi any day... But we all know management won't do that. Unfortunately.

I think you do what you need to do with him to get him as ready as possible for the playoffs. If he's not going to play right now, WBS is the place for him.

I don't think they should start the playoffs with DP, but my hope is that they go to him real quick at the first sign of any kind of offensive troubles.

And I don't buy the conventional wisdom with DP. I think he NEEDS to play against bigger teams like Boston. Don't try to match their physicality, skate around their physicality. Should already be a lesson learned, but it's not.

“Boston is the type of team where we had to play a physical game and grind them down low tonight,” Penguins coach Mike Johnston said.

It would require Ryan admitting the slightest possibility of being wrong, and we all know that's not happening. Can't be a condescending narcissistic jerk AND be wrong at the same time.

Lucic in the high slot was most likely Winnik's responsibility. Not sure why it took him so long to get there, the camera angle cuts him off. He goes out to the point, the D passes to the other side, and Winnik stays out there long enough for Lucic to fill the open space. When the puck got bobbled he might have paused because he thought it was coming the other way.

It's really hard to apply blame/praise to players without explicitly knowing their responsibilities within the scheme.

Sidney is a game time decision. Malkin out. Ebbetts was called up and Pulliot sent down for Cap reasons. Hopefully Adams doesn't play
